At Vortex, we build race starters that deliver — every time. Our roots run deep in Chippewa Valley Starter and Alternator Service, our family business where we've been rebuilding starters and alternators for nearly three decades. We're also a three-generation family of dirt track racers who live and breathe the sport. That combined experience drives everything we do. We test our own products — on the bench and on the track — to make sure they hold up under real race conditions.
Vortex was born out of a clear need in the dirt racing world: more powerful, more reliable starters that could handle high-compression engines and brutal race-day environments. We identified this need over years of helping customers troubleshoot starting issues and rebuilding thousands of starters. We've seen, inside and out, where typical race starters fall short and we knew we could do better. After designing and testing our own, the result is a starter that’s stronger, lasts longer, and outperforms the competition where it matters most.
